T-O Engineers Merges with GDA Engineers

Posted on August 01, 2018

T-O Engineers, a full-service planning and engineering firm, has merged with GDA Engineers (GDA), a prominent civil engineering and surveying firm based in Cody, Wyoming.

GDA, founded in 1953, specializes in civil engineering, aviation planning, surveying and geospatial solutions for clients across the Rocky Mountain Region. Currently, the firm has 30 team members as well as office locations in Heber City, Utah, and Boise, Idaho. The combination will unite the two industry-leading companies with complementary capabilities, cultures, and relationships.

“We are excited to join forces with GDA and expand our client base and resumé while offering our clients a broader range of services and dependability,” said T-O Engineers President Bill Russell.

“T-O Engineers and GDA have obvious synergy,” said GDA President Dusty Spomer.  “Our core services align nicely, but we don’t overlap geographically.  It was clear from the beginning that this would result in an increased opportunity for our valued staff and a higher level of service for our valued clients.”

T-O Engineers provides the Northwest a full suite of services, including aviation, transportation, land development, wastewater, water resources, municipal, surveying, landscape architecture, and environmental. This expansion allows GDA to provide a broader range of services and solutions to clients in the Rocky Mountain Region, as well as the Northwest.  Both firms’ specialties will be immediately integrated across their respective combined service areas allowing for efficient and responsive service.

“From the beginning, we’ve felt strongly that this merger is about identifying the very best practices and capabilities of each firm and blending them in the formation of one solid firm,” said Spomer. “This best-of-the-best approach will result in improved efficiencies and job satisfaction.  Our employees, clients, and projects will undoubtedly benefit.”

T-O Engineers will maintain its headquarters in Meridian, Idaho, and will continue to use GDA’s existing Wyoming, Utah, and Boise offices, bringing the company to eight total office locations spread across four western states.  The merger will also grow the company to more than 130 employees. As the companies coordinate integration, they will continue to work closely with clients, partners, and employees to create a smooth transition process.
