Overview:

The Spires is a planned unit development at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. T-O Engineers provided planning and engineering for the original phase of this mountainside development, which include 20 residential lots.

The site consists of steep mountainside terrain and was engineered to achieve an earthworks balance while minimizing impacts to select trees and other natural features.The project also involved coordination with sub-consultants for surveying, geotechnical engineering and hydro-geologic support. T-O Engineers also provided construction management services for the project, including on-site observation and coordination with agencies, contractors and developers. The project also includes the phased development of a new public water system to serve the subdivision. T-O has been the engineer for this multi-phased project since 2001.

  • Preliminary planning
  • Assistance with entitlements
  • Design of infrastructure improvements including roadways
  • A groundwater based public water supply and distribution system
  • Storm water management features
  • A sewage collection system
  • 9,000 LF of roadway encompassing 900 vertical feet in elevation change
  • Expansion of the water supply system, including a booster pump station, 200,000 gallon reservoir and two additional wells
  • 7,000 LF of water main
  • 5,000 LF of sewer main
  • Stormwater and erosion control features.
