Overview:

T-O Engineers provided initial site feasibility analysis for a new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in the Spokane International Airport (SIA) Business Park. Following site selection, T-O was selected to provide full civil site design for the new SMaRT Center. The project includes a 64,000 square foot processing facility with attached administrative space and occupies 8.5 acres. T-O Engineers worked closely with the SIA, the County, and the City to determine impacts for the pending city annexation. The facility successfully opened in 2012. 

 Services Provided:

  • Designed access from the MRF to Geiger Boulevard to Washington State Department of Transportation  and Spokane County standards.
  • Developed multiple site grading packages, to accommodate building relocation.
  • Designed the access roads and parking lots, including stormwater and AutoTurn analysis.
  • Designed and then coordinated utility installations with utility providers.
  • Worked closely with SIA, the County and the City to determine impacts for the pending city annexation.
