Client

Idaho Transportation Department, District 3

Construction Value:

$700,000

Overview:

The West Pedestrian Bridge was a federally funded project sponsored by the City of Garden City and administered by the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), Local Roads Section. The project involved the installation of a 178 foot prefabricated steel bicycle and pedestrian bridge. The bridge provided a connection between the north and south Greenbelt paths along the Boise River. This project also included the construction of three MSE retaining walls, an armored maintenance ramp and placement of 300 cubic yards of rip rap along the river banks.

What made this project particularly challenging is its location adjacent to residential neighborhoods and close proximity to the Boise River. Work completed in the Boise River required close monitoring in order to not impact the river environment. T-O Engineers was selected by ITD to perform the CE&I services for this project. T-O prepared pay estimates, reviewed submittals and requests for information, and performed all the general documentation for the project. T-O also performed the day-to-day oversight for the project which was successfully completed in 2014.
